Ogun State Police Commence Investigation Into Alleged Rape Of Nigerian TikToker, Mirabel

The Ogun State Police Command has said it has commenced an investigation into the alleged sexual assault of a Nigerian TikToker, Mirabel.

Recall that the content creator, with the username @mirab351, said in a viral and emotional video that the assault occurred on Sunday, February 15, 2026.

The incident sparked heated conversations across various platforms under the hashtag #StopRapingWomen.

Following this, the Lagos State Domestic Violence Agency (DSVA) stated that the case had been referred to authorities in Ogun State for proper investigation.

Confirming this on Wednesday, the Ogun Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, said that upon receiving the information, the Commissioner of Police directed the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Ibafo Division, to immediately establish contact with the victim.

Babaseyi noted that the survivor had reported to the Ibafo Police Station, where initial information was gathered. However, preliminary investigations showed that the alleged assault took place within the Ogijo jurisdiction.

He clarified that she was immediately taken to a hospital for evaluation and urgent care.

“Following preliminary treatment, she was subsequently conveyed to the Ogijo Police Station, being the jurisdiction where the incident occurred, for proper documentation and continuation of investigative procedures,” he said.

He added that due to her vulnerable condition, she was referred for extensive medical care to facilitate her rehabilitation and the ongoing investigation.

The Command emphasized its commitment to the victim’s safety and well-being, while assuring the public that rigorous measures are underway to bring those responsible to book.
