Inspector-General Of Police, Olatunji Disu Approves Fresh Probe Into Mohbad’s Death After Family’s Petition

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has approved a petition by the family of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, seeking a fresh and comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death. The family disclosed this through its lawyer, Oladayo Ogungbe, in a statement dated September 29, 2026, clarifying that the police re-investigation was ongoing despite the recent dismissal of a suit by the Federal High Court, Abuja. Ogungbe, in the statement, said that the Aloba family submitted the petition to the IGP on April 14, 2026, and that it was received at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, on May 7. According to the statement, the petition raised concerns about inconsistencies in the previous investigative process and called for a comprehensive forensic reconstruction of the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death. CAS Sets October 8 Hearing For Senegal Vs Morocco AFCON Final Dispute

The long-running dispute involving the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF), the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) will move to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) next week, with the appeal scheduled for hearing on Thursday, October 8, 2026. CAS confirmed that the hearing will take place at its headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland, following an appeal filed by the FSF against CAF and the FRMF. The case will be heard by a three-member arbitration panel comprising Professor Gérald Simon of France, who will serve as president, Professor Luigi Fumagalli of Italy and Professor Dr Ulrich Haas of Germany.
