  Prime Care Hospitals has firmly denied social media reports alleging that Nigerian content creator, Mukoro Mitchelle, popularly known as King Mitchy, died at its Abuja facility after allegedly ingesting a harmful substance. In an official statement posted on its Instagram page on Saturday morning, the hospital management described the claims as “FALSE” and clarified that King Mitchy was never admitted to the facility, nor did she pass away there. “The management of Prime Care Hospitals wishes to inform the public that the announcement of the alleged death of Miss Mukoro Mitchelle, popularly known as King Mitchy, at our facility in Abuja is FALSE. A woman has been expelled from Umekpu village in Ogbaku, Mbaitoli Local Government Area, after being accused of selling her sister-in-law’s son for ₦800,000. According to sources, the village leadership took swift action after the matter came to light, declaring her persona non grata in the community. A video which emerged on Thursday shows the woman being escorted out of the community by a crowd of villagers singing derogatory songs and taunting her. Speaking in the footage, one of the community leaders gave the reason behind the decision to banish the woman. "We are banishing her from our community, Umekpu Village, Ogbaku, in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State,”  the man said. “She sold her sister-in-law’s son, that is the son of her brother’s wife, for ₦800,000 and for that reason, we have to banish her.”

It was gathered t hat a U.S. official informed it that the attacks were carried out as a joint military operation between Israel and the United States. Iran’s state-affiliated Fars News Agency said several missiles hit University Street and the Jomhouri area in central Tehran, sending plumes of smoke into the air.   Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo has pledged to step down from office if President Bola Ahmed Tinubu fails to secure victory in the 2027 general elections. Okpebholo made this vow on Friday during an interview on African Independent Television (AIT). Anambra State Government has demolished the shrine of a native doctor, Chukwudozie Nwangwu, popularly known as Akwa Okuko Tiwara Aki in Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area, following a High Court judgment delivered on Friday, February 27, 2026, in Awka, the state capital. The demolition was carried out by operatives of the state security outfit, Agunechemba, and supervised by Ben Emeakayi, Special Adviser to the governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, on Community Security. The massive shrine, which contained native pots, pictures of persons, moulded images, clothes, and other ritual objects, was dismantled piece by piece and set ablaze after the exercise. A High Court sitting in Awka, presided over by Justice Jude Obiora, had on the same day sentenced Nwangwu to 11 months imprisonment for involvement in ritual practices known as oke ite and other offences.

  Justice Belgore has forwarded the case file of the fundamental human rights enforcement suit instituted by former Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai to the Chief Judge of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for reassignment to another court. The development follows the judge’s decision to proceed on leave. The court had on Wednesday, February 25, adjourned proceedings to Friday to hear El-Rufai’s bail application. However, at Friday’s sitting, Justice Belgore disclosed that he would be proceeding on leave and, consequently, returned the case file to the FCT Chief Judge for reassignment to another judge.   The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) Oyo State Command has apprehended a visitor for attempting to smuggle suspected hard drugs into the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Agodi, Ibadan. The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Olanrewaju Anjorin, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.  Mr. Anjorin said the male visitor was apprehended during routine security checks conducted on visitors and their belongings at the facility’s entrance. The head coach of the Super Eagles, Eric Chelle, has confirmed that he presented specific conditions to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) regarding a new contract. The Ikorodu High Court in Lagos State has authorized three laboratories—two in the United Kingdom and one in the United States—to conduct DNA tests to establish the paternity of Liam, the child left behind by the late singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad. Liam's paternity has been disputed on several occasions by Joseph Aloba, the father of the late singer. A bride was shot during the ‘Jaimala’ ceremony at her wedding in Buxar district, Bihar. The incident took place on Tuesday night, February 24, in Chausa Nagar Panchayat under the Mufassil police station area.
