  Nigerian businessman and socialite, Pascal Chibuike Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has purchased the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives nomination form to run for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency in Imo State. He made this known via his Instagram handle on Thursday, April 30, 2026. Maximilien de Hoop Cartier, a French resident who moonlights as a singer under the name ‘Max Cartier’, was sentenced in Manhattan federal court on Tuesday, April 28, after pleading guilty in October to operating an unlicensed money-transmitting business and to conspiracy to commit bank fraud. Cartier, 58, funneled the money through a web of the U.S. shell companies disguised as fake software and tech firms — with names like Bullpix Solutions, Softmill LLC, and VC Innovated before routing it to Colombia, prosecutors said. The companies existed solely to receive and transmit international drug money, converting narcos’ cryptocurrency into hard currency. Oil industry experts have expressed differing opinions on the United Arab Emirates (UAE) ‘s plan to exit the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), saying it would have little or no impact on the global market structure. Speaking with the newsmen,  Emmanuel Iheanacho, Executive Chairman of Integrated oil and Gas Limited and Genesis Shipping, said that though this is not the first time the country had issued such threats, if it happens, then it may distort supply volume from the OPEC structure, which could lead to market competition that could drive down crude oil prices. Nigeria’s President,  Bola Ahmed Tinubu  has appointed Ambassador  Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu  as Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, following the resignation of Ambassador  Yusuf Tuggar . Inspector-General Of Police Approves Dismissal And Prosecution Of Police Officer Involved In The Killing Of 28-Year Old Suspect In Delta State

  The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has approved the dismissal and prosecution of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Nuhu Usman over the killing of a suspect in Effurun, Delta State. The  action follows the outcome of a review by the Force Disciplinary Committee (FDC), which examined the incident alongside other internal disciplinary procedures. Addressing an emergency press conference in Abuja, the IGP said the officer involved, along with members of his team, has been recommended for dismissal from the Nigeria Police Force.   The  Delta State Police Command has said that the policeman who shot and killed a suspect in Effurun, as captured in a viral video, will be tried for murder. The  spokesperson of the Command, Bright Edafe, who disclosed this during an interview on Channels Television’s   The Morning Brief   on Wednesday, said the cop, identified as one ASP Nuhu Usman, had been moved to the Force Headquarters, Abuja, to face disciplinary action. Edafe said that the officer acted unprofessionally and likened his violent action to one that could not be explained unless from a spiritual perspective. House Of Representatives Approve Tinubu’s $516 Million Loan Request

  The House of Representatives has approved President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s request to borrow ($516,333,007) five hundred and sixteen million, three hundred and thirty-three thousand, seven US dollars in syndicated financing from Deutsche Bank AG. They approved it during the plenary on Tuesday in Abuja after the presentation of a report by the deputy chairman of the House Committee on Aids, Loans, and Debts Management, Abdullahi Rasheed. The money is expected to fund the construction of sections of the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway. President Tinubu wrote to the lawmakers, seeking a   $516.3 million loan from Deutsche Bank to support the construction of the road.
