Police Arrest Content Creator For Alleged Rape Of A Girl Who Committed Suicide In Asaba, Delta State

The Delta State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a 44-year-old popular content creator simply identified as Odogwu Asaba. 

The suspect was arrested for allegedly raping a 21-year-old girl (name withheld).

The girl was said to have committed suicide after the incident.

It was said that the deceased was lured into Asaba by the suspect under the pretence of wanting to help her. 

The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe confirmed the arrest to the newsmen on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.

It was gathered that the suspect was arrested on Tuesday at his residence in Asaba, following a petition by a human right activist, Comrade Israel Joe. 

The suspect is currently in police custody and has allegedly confessed to the crime.

Warri based human rights activist, Comrade Israel Joe, commended the Delta State Police Command for the arrest, just as he insisted that justice must be seen to have been served in the matter.

Ibom Air Passenger Remanded In Prison

  Comfort Emmanson, a passenger of Ibom Air who had a fight with officials has been arraigned and remanded in custody.   A video of her in a flight inbound Lagos from Uyo has since gone viral.   The Special Adviser to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, on Media and Communications, Tunde Moshood, who revealed this, said Emmanson has been remanded in the Kirikiri correctional facility.   Moshood disclosed this in a post on X on Monday shortly after the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), said enforcement action will soon become more frequent in Nigerian airports as unruly conduct by passengers becomes rampant.
