FIFA Investigates Alleged Racial Abuse Directed At Internet Streamer, IShowSpeed

Football’s global governing body, Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), has launched an official investigation into an incident of alleged racial abuse directed at American internet streamer, Darren Jason Watkins Jr., popularly known as IShowSpeed during a World Cup match.

The incident took place on July 3 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami during the Round of 32 match between Argentina and Cape Verde.

The 21-year-old American streamer was broadcasting live to his millions of followers from the stands when the alleged abuse occurred.

FIFA confirmed it began reviewing the matter after the incident was captured on the live broadcast. In an official statement, the organization reiterated its strict stance against discrimination, stating that the tournament is built on unity, diversity, and respect.

IShowSpeed has been a prominent figure throughout the tournament, broadcasting from various matches and featuring high-profile guests, including football players and FIFA President Gianni Infantino. He is well-known globally for his high-energy content and his public support of Portuguese forward, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ibom Air Passenger Remanded In Prison

  Comfort Emmanson, a passenger of Ibom Air who had a fight with officials has been arraigned and remanded in custody.   A video of her in a flight inbound Lagos from Uyo has since gone viral.   The Special Adviser to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, on Media and Communications, Tunde Moshood, who revealed this, said Emmanson has been remanded in the Kirikiri correctional facility.   Moshood disclosed this in a post on X on Monday shortly after the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), said enforcement action will soon become more frequent in Nigerian airports as unruly conduct by passengers becomes rampant.
