Qatar Denies Imposing New Visa Restrictions On Nigerians

The Embassy of the State of Qatar in Nigeria has debunked claims that it imposed a new and stricter visa restriction on Nigerians.

Speaking to the newsmen on Wednesday, September 10, a Qatar ministry official said that there are no restrictions on Nigerians seeking to visit Qatar.

The denial follows viral reports alleging that Nigerians must now meet additional conditions before securing a visa, including mandatory return transfer bookings, hotel reservations, and restrictions limiting applications to only women or families. The report further suggested that staying in a 5-star hotel was a new requirement for visa qualification.

The Qatari Embassy said these claims are false and urged the public to rely solely on information shared through its official communication channels for accurate travel guidelines.
