Hilda Baci Awarded Guinness World Record For Largest Pot Of Jollof Rice


 
 
Nigerian celebrity chef and food influencer, Hilda Effiong Bassey popularly known as Hilda Baci has been awarded a Guinness World Records (GWR) for preparing the largest pot of jollof rice.
 
This was announced in a post shared on the official X account of Guinness World Records.

“New record: Largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice – 8,780 kg (19,356 lb 9 oz) achieved by Hilda Baci and Gino in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.” They wrote.
 
The achievement came after a grand culinary spectacle held on September 12, 2025, at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
 
The event, tagged the ‘Gino World Jollof Festival’ with Hilda Baci, drew thousands of attendees and generated massive social media buzz.
 
Hilda Baci, who first rose to international prominence in 2023 when she set the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon, has now reinforced her reputation as one of Nigeria’s most celebrated chefs.
 
The Lagos event attracted celebrities including Funke Akindele, Enioluwa Adeoluwa, Tomike Adeoye, and Pastor Idowu, as well as Bamidele Abiodun, wife of the Ogun State Governor, who all came out to support the chef’s latest record-breaking attempt.
