Poco Lee Gets The 2026 Headies Nomination
Nigerian dancer and entertainer, Odinaka Pascal Iweh, popularly known as Poco Lee, has been nominated for the 18th edition of the 2026 Headies Awards.
Poco Lee, alongside Shoday and Rahman Jago, earned a nomination in the Song of the Year category for their collaboration, ‘Hey Jago’, according to a list of nominees released on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.
The nomination comes at a time when the entertainer is facing public scrutiny following allegations of assault.
Reports of an alleged arrest in the United Kingdom involving Poco Lee began circulating earlier this month, although details surrounding the case have remained unclear.
The dancer is expected to appear before the Snaresbrook Crown Court in London in September for a plea hearing.
Founder of the community of Nigerians in the United Kingdom, Benjamin Kuti, popularly known as the Oluomo of Derby, confirmed in a tweet Monday that “Poco Lee is currently on remand in a UK prison. His next court date is scheduled for the second week of September, when he is expected to have a plea hearing.”
The Song of the Year category features other major releases, including Kunmie’s ‘Arike’, Ayra Starr’s ‘Hot Body’, Fido’s ‘Joy Is Coming’, Asake and Wizkid’s ‘MMS’, and Davido and Omah Lay’s ‘With You’.
The 2026 Headies (18th edition) ceremony is scheduled to take place in Toronto, Canada on October 23 to 25, 2026.
