Cristiano Ronaldo Sends Heartfelt Message To Lionel Messi After Father's Death

Portuguese football superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo has sent a message of support to Lionel Messi following the death of the Argentina football superstar’s father, Jorge Messi.

Jorge died last week at the age of 68 after a prolonged illness, prompting Messi to publish an emotional tribute on Wednesday.

In his message, the Inter Miami forward revealed the depth of his grief and admitted he was uncertain about continuing his professional football career.

Ronaldo responded to Messi’s post on social media, offering words of encouragement to his long-time rival.

“A huge hug to you and yours in these tough times, Leo. Much strength,” the Portugal captain wrote.

The message comes after Messi revealed that Jorge had been by his side throughout his career, from his early days as a young player to his emergence as one of football’s greatest-ever figures. 

Jorge had served as Messi’s agent since the forward was 14 and remained a key figure in his career.

Messi’s tribute also prompted a message from Inter Miami co-owner and former England international David Beckham, who wrote: “We are with you and your family, Leo, always.”

  The Uni ted States House of Representatives has approved an amendment seeking to withhold 100 per cent of the U.S. assistance to Nigeria until the country takes stronger measures to address violence and alleged persecution of Christians.
