Arsenal Thrash Manchester City 3-0 To Lift Community Shield, Fire Premier League Warning

Arsenal have sent a powerful warning to their Premier League rivals as they swept aside Manchester City 3-0 to win the Community Shield and signal their determination to defend their league crown.

Mikel Arteta’s side delivered an impressive performance from the outset, taking control of the contest before securing a convincing victory over Enzo Maresca’s men.

Riccardo Calafiori opened the scoring after just one minute, converting from Myles Lewis-Skelly’s assist to give Arsenal a dream start.

The Gunners continued to dominate and doubled their advantage in the 28th minute when Kai Havertz finished off a move created by Christos Tzolis.

Arsenal went into half-time with a comfortable 2-0 lead and showed no signs of slowing down after the restart.

Martin Ødegaard added a third just three minutes into the second half, again with Tzolis providing the assist, as Arsenal effectively put the contest beyond Manchester City.

City struggled to find a response against an Arsenal side that defended resolutely and controlled the game for long periods.

Joško Gvardiol was booked in the 53rd minute, while Ødegaard was cautioned late on as Arsenal comfortably saw out the remainder of the match.

The 3-0 victory sees Arsenal lift the Community Shield in emphatic fashion and provides Arteta’s squad with a major confidence boost ahead of the new Premier League campaign.

More importantly, the commanding victory over one of their biggest title rivals serves as an early statement of intent from the reigning champions.

  The Uni ted States House of Representatives has approved an amendment seeking to withhold 100 per cent of the U.S. assistance to Nigeria until the country takes stronger measures to address violence and alleged persecution of Christians. The amendment, sponsored by the U.S. Congressman Gregory Steube, was adopted through a voice vote on Wednesday and attached to the fiscal year 2027 State Department spending bill, which was later passed by the House by 217-209 votes, largely along party lines.
