Nigerian Content Creator, Ashmusy Freezes Eggs To Avoid Marriage Pressure

Nigerian content creator and influencer, Amarachi Amusi, popularly known as Ashmusy, has stirred reactions online after announcing that she has successfully frozen her eggs to protect her future fertility.

In a detailed video shared on Friday, the 30-year-old creator showed her followers the medical stages of the procedure. Ashmusy explained that her decision was born of a desire to become a mother without being forced into a wrong marriage by societal pressure to marry as she aged.

Describing the move as one of her best life choices, she clarified that the process only preserves her eggs from a specific cycle and does not stop her from conceiving naturally in the meantime. She noted that her goal was to educate other women facing similar pressures.

However, the announcement drew a sharp reaction from Nollywood actress, Sarah Martins. While Sarah commended the move to preserve fertility, she issued a strong warning to women, reminding them that egg freezing is not a shield against health risks.

“Please remind them that freezing their eggs to prevent an unwanted pregnancy doesn’t prevent them from getting infected with HIV/AIDS and other diseases,” the actress wrote, urging women to remain cautious and prioritize their health during careless moments.
