Eddie Murphy's Son Welcomes A Baby Girl With Martin Lawrence's Daughter

 

Hollywood stars, Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence are celebrating the arrival of a new addition to their families. Eddie’s son, Eric Murphy, and Martin’s daughter, Jasmin Lawrence, have welcomed their first baby together.

Eddie Murphy shared the happy news on April 18, 2026, during an exclusive interview at the American Film Institute (AFI) Achievement Award Ceremony. He revealed that the couple had a baby girl, Ari Skye, about two weeks ago.

“They just had a baby girl,” Eddie said. “They just had her two weeks ago, or a week ago. Yeah, Ari Skye.”

The two famous comedians have been close friends for many years, and their children’s relationship has officially brought the families together. Eric and Jasmin began dating in 2021 and married in May 2025.

When asked for advice for the new parents, Eddie joked that kids usually don’t listen to what their parents say anyway. He explained that children learn more from watching how their parents behave than from being told what to do.

“Your kids don’t go by your advice. Your kids go by the example you set,” he said. “The stuff you be saying, they don’t even pay that mind. They watch and see what you do.”

Even though Eddie has many famous movies to his name, he insisted that his ten children are his greatest achievement. “My legacy to me isn’t my work,” he shared. “My legacy to me is my children.”

Martin Lawrence also shared his joy on social media, saying his heart is full of love now that he has become a grandfather for the first time.
