Fresh details have emerged regarding the death of veteran Nollywood actor, Solomon Akiyesi, who reportedly passed away in Abuja on Monday.

The National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Abubakar Yakubu, who spoke with the actor’s daughter, revealed that the late thespian complained of sharp chest pains on Sunday night.

According to the family, Akiyesi was rushed to a hospital where he was diagnosed with an ulcer and prescribed medication. He reportedly returned home to rest but failed to wake up the following morning.

His wife reportedly discovered his unresponsive body at about 4:00 AM on Monday when she attempted to wake him up.

The 66-year-old actor, a native of Edo State, was a prominent figure in the Nigerian film industry, with a career spanning over two decades and more than 100 movie credits.

Colleagues have described his passing as a major blow to the industry. Actress Celestina Dovigalle, in her tribute, described the late producer as a versatile professional who brought light and laughter to every film set he worked on.
