Blord Set For Potential Release As Police Withdraw Opposition To Bail

In a major turn of events, cryptocurrency entrepreneur, Linus Williams Ifejirika, popularly known as Blord, may soon regain his freedom following a new development in his legal battle.

The Nigerian Police Force has officially withdrawn its counter-affidavit that was previously filed to oppose Blord’s bail application. This move was confirmed on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, by Human Rights activist, Omoyele Sowore.

Blord has been held at the Kuje Correctional Centre for over 12 days after being arraigned at the Federal High Court in Abuja. He faces charges related to criminal conspiracy, impersonation, and the alleged unauthorised use of the image of social media activist and influencer, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM).

Speaking with journalists, Sowore explained that with the police withdrawing their opposition, the bail application is now unopposed. He noted that all parties involved are now working toward an amicable resolution to end the legal dispute.

“The bail application has been filed already. The police filed a counter, and it has now been withdrawn,” Sowore stated. “We have all agreed that this is going to end.”

With the police now stepping back from their initial stance, his legal team is moving quickly to secure a court date for his release.

Ibom Air Passenger Remanded In Prison

  Comfort Emmanson, a passenger of Ibom Air who had a fight with officials has been arraigned and remanded in custody.   A video of her in a flight inbound Lagos from Uyo has since gone viral.   The Special Adviser to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, on Media and Communications, Tunde Moshood, who revealed this, said Emmanson has been remanded in the Kirikiri correctional facility.   Moshood disclosed this in a post on X on Monday shortly after the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), said enforcement action will soon become more frequent in Nigerian airports as unruly conduct by passengers becomes rampant.
