U.S. Warns Of Imminent Terror Attacks On Facilities, Schools In Nigeria

 


The United States Embassy in Nigeria on Monday, March 9, 2026, issued a strong warning to its citizens about a possible terrorist attack targeting U.S. facilities and American-affiliated schools in Nigeria, particularly in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

In a recent security alert posted on its official website, the U.S. advised its citizens in Nigeria to take additional precautions.

The notice urged the U.S. citizens in Nigeria to be more security conscious, especially when visiting the U.S. diplomatic missions and any US-affiliated schools.

The notice reads, the “U.S. Embassy in Abuja informs the U.S. citizens of a possible terrorist threat against the U.S. facilities and US-affiliated schools in Nigeria.

“The Embassy recommends that the U.S. citizens take additional precautions when travelling to the U.S. Embassy, the U.S. Consulate General in Lagos, and US-affiliated schools, to include varying times and routes.”
