Former presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad has called for an investigation into and the arrest of the U.S. missionary, Alex Barbir.

His call comes hours after Alex shared a video calling out President Tinubu over fresh attacks in Plateau state.

Over 10 persons were killed by gunmen who attacked Anguwan Rukuba community in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau state on Sunday, March 29, 2026.

Alex in his video accused President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of not doing anything to end the killing of Christians and insecurity in Nigeria.

Reacting to the video, Bashir said Alex has been moving around openly, “spreading hate and attempting to incite violence against Nigerians of diverse backgrounds.”

He called on the authorities to take swift and lawful steps to investigate, apprehend, where necessary and ensure accountability to safeguard peace, unity and public order.
