Popular Ivorian Singer, DJ Arafat, 33 Dies In A Road Accident

According to posts on social media, Ange Dider Huon, known by his stage name DJ Arafat, had been driving his motorcycle and hit a car. He was reportedly taken to an Abidjan hospital, where he died.
He was a popular recording artist in francophone countries, especially on the African continent, releasing a total of 11 albums during his career.

DJ Arafat was known for his distinctive “coupé-decalé” dance music that put hip-hop vocals with short, catchy rhythms, garnering “Artist of the Year” for the genre in 2016 and 2017. Ivorian Culture Minister Maurice Kouakou Bandaman gave his condolences to DJ Arafat’s family and fans, adding that he planned to pay homage to his life and career.

Teenage Boy Shot By Landlord In Owerri While Attempting To Retrieve Football From His Compound Has Died

The teenage boy who was shot by his landlord in Imo State for jumping into his house to retrieve a ball during a game of football on his school field has succumbed to his injuries. Paul died at the Specialist Hospital, Umuguma, Owerri barely 24 hours after undergoing surgery. Paul’s guardian, Mr Jonathan Odikanwa, a septuagenarian told the newsmen that his ward passed away on Thursday afternoon, March 20, 2025. The 16-year-old student of Urban Secondary School in the Area N, World Bank Housing area of Owerri had jumped over his school fence to retrieve a ball that entered the yet-to-be-identified landlord’s premises on Monday. However, the property owner got offended and shot Paul in the waist, leaving him to battle for his life at the hospital. Court Adjourns Nnamdi Kanu’s Case For Trial

  The Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday adjourned the trial of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), until 19 March. Binta Nyako, the judge, before whom Mr Kanu is being tried by the Nigerian government for terrorism, fixed the date for commencement of trial. At the adjourned date, the prosecuting lawyer, Adegboyega Awomolo, promised to call at least two witnesses that day. Mr Awomolo’s appearance on Monday is an indication of the Federal Government’s drastic shake-up of its prosecution team. It’s the first time an external prosecutor will be leading the Federal Government’s team since the case started in 2015. Mr Kanu’s trial resumed on Monday following the Supreme Court judgement on 15 December 2023. The Supreme Court last December restored Mr Kanu’s trial after setting aside the judgement of the Court of Appeal freeing the IPOB leader.
