Ex Ghanaian Footballer, Junior Agogo Dies Aged 40


Former Ghana and Nottingham Forrest striker Junior Agogo has died, aged 40. Agogo had a 15-year-old career as a player and retired in 2012 after a spell with Hibernian. A graduate at  Sheffield Wednesday Agogo suffered a stroke after retiring in 2015, leaving him debilitated. 
His agent Saif Rubie confirmed his passing: “Just heard the news that one of my first clients ever Junior Agogo has passed away. Still can’t believe it. One of my proudest moments in football is seeing him smash the AFCON in Ghana.”
Sheffield Wednesday sent their condolences to their former player, writing on Twitter: “Sheffield Wednesday are saddened to learn of the passing of our former player Junior Agogo.
“Our thoughts are with Junior’s family and friends at this very difficult time. RIP.” Agogo hit 12 goals in 27 caps for the Black Stars, he also scored 113 league goals in 350 appearances in the domestic game.
