Nollywood Actress, Shirley Igwe Suspended By Actors Guild Of Nigeria Over Assault

The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has announced the suspension of Nollywood actress, Shirley Igwe.

She was suspended following allegations that she assaulted a crew member on a film set.

It was gathered that Igwe allegedly slapped a member of the Creative Designers Guild of Nigeria (CDGN), during a production, prompting swift disciplinary action from the AGN.

In a statement issued to its state chapter chairmen and the national chairman, the Guild announced that Igwe had been placed on indefinite suspension pending further investigation.

The AGN stated that the suspension was due to “violence, and indiscipline actions capable of discrediting the acting profession.”

The statement further directed: “Members are hereby directed to refrain from participating in any film production involving her.”
