Air Peace Announces Suspension Of Lagos Flights For 12 Hours On Saturday

Air Peace has announced it will suspend operations in Lagos on Saturday, July 12, 2025 for 12 hours.

This is due to the upcoming local government elections in the state.

The airline made the disclosure in a public notice shared via its official X handle on Thursday. According to the statement, flight operations will be halted from 3:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. due to government-imposed movement restrictions across Lagos State.

“We wish to inform our esteemed customers and the general public that there will be no scheduled flight operations into and out of Lagos on Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 3:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.,” the statement read.

“This suspension is in response to the Lagos Local Government Elections and the restriction of movement on roads and waterways as announced by the Lagos State Police Command.

“Flight operations will resume by 4:00 p.m. the same day, following our regular schedule.”

Air Peace expressed regret over any inconvenience the suspension may cause passengers and assured them that normal services would promptly resume after the restrictions are lifted.

Meanwhile, in preparation for the polls, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, on Wednesday ordered the deployment of security personnel across the state to ensure a peaceful electoral process.
