UK Based Zimbabwean Gospel Singer Gets 10 Additional Charges In Child Abuse Case

The UK has brought additional 10 charges against 33-year-old Zimbabwean gospel singer, Walter Chahwanda.

The gospel singer is facing a disturbing sexual offences case brought against him.

Walter Chahwanda, of Plemonstall Court, remains behind bars awaiting trial after being arrested in February 2024 and again in March 2025.

Initially charged with 11 offences, including rape, assault by penetration, cyber flashing, five counts of sexual activity with a girl aged 13 to 15, sexual communication with a child, causing a child to watch a sexual act, and blackmail, Chahwanda’s legal woes have now deepened.

UK authorities have authorized ten additional charges involving multiple victims, adding blackmail, two counts of sexual communication with a child, six counts of malicious communications, and causing a child to view a sexual act to his growing list of alleged crimes.

Chahwanda, who last appeared before Liverpool Crown Court in April following a prior hearing in March, remains in custody with his trial set for September. For now, his only destination is court as the case against him continues to escalate.
