Benue State Governor Reveals To President Tinubu The Only Thing That Can Stop The Killing Of His People

Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia of Benue State has revealed the solution to the killing of his people by herdsmen.

He asked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to establish state police across the country.

According to him, state policing will serve as a sustainable solution to the persistent insecurity in Benue State.

The Governor stated this on Wednesday, when President Bola Ahmed Tinubu visited the state following the killing of over 200 residents by suspected Fulani herdsmen.

Recall that the President was in Makurdi, Benue, as part of efforts to condole with the people over the violent attacks in the state.

Alia said in his call said, “Let me also reiterate my firm support for the establishment of state police as a sustainable solution to the persistent insecurity in our state and perhaps elsewhere.

“Why acknowledge other concerns surrounding its implementation. I believe the federal government can address these by setting clear state specific guidelines and regulatory frameworks to prevent any potential.”
