Court Adjourns Trial Of Mercy Chinwo’s Ex-Manager, Eezee Tee Over Money Laundering

Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke of the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Friday adjourned further proceedings in the case involving music promoter and former manager of gospel artist Mercy Chinwo, Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu ThankGod, popularly known as Eezee Tee, to September 26, 2025.

ThankGod and his company, Eezee Global Concepts Limited, are facing trial on a seven-count amended charge filed by the Lagos Zonal Directorate 2 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The charges involve allegations of foreign exchange malpractice and money laundering involving several hundred thousand dollars.

Initially arraigned before Justice Owoeye at the same court, the case was later reassigned to Justice Aneke for continuation of proceedings.

One of the charges alleges that the defendant, not being an authorized foreign exchange dealer approved by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) negotiated a foreign currency transaction with an individual, thereby violating provisions of the Foreign Exchange Monitoring and Miscellaneous (Provisions) Act.

At Friday’s hearing, the prosecution, led by Bilkisu Buhari-Bala, presented its first witness, Mohammed Timta.

Defence counsel, Chikaosolu Ojukwu (SAN), informed the court that both parties were close to reaching a settlement and requested additional time to finalize discussions. He added that should the negotiations fail, the prosecution would proceed with full trial.

Following the submissions, Justice Aneke granted the request and adjourned the case to September 26, 2025, for further hearing.

Yinka Theisen Announces Her Relationship With Actor Linc Edochie Is Over Less Than One Month After Their Wedding Was Announced

  Nollywood actor, Linc Edochie and Yinka Theisen have called it quits less than one month after their wedding was announced.  Yinka took to her official Instagram account to make the announcement, writing: “In all things we say thank you Lord!! My relationship with Linc is over. No hard feelings at all. I am very sad but in all things we thank God.”   Earlier, Linc announced that he is choosing peace over a "landmine" union after Yinka released May Edochie's phone number, which sparked retaliatory actions from May's supporters.   Linc and Yinka have unfollowed each other on Instagram.   The union between Linc, one of the sons of legendary actor Peter Edochie, and Yinka was announced earlier this month by Dele Momodu, the publisher of Ovation magazine.   However, shortly after the announcement, Yinka began publicly criticising May Edochie, the estranged wife of her new brother-in-law, Yul Edochie.
