Madrid Mourns As Zidane Passes On

Real Madrid’s coaching staff and players held a minute’s silence on Saturday in tribute to Zinedine Zidane’s brother Farid who has died aged 54.

The Los Blancos manager left the club’s pre-season training camp in Canada this week with the club stating his departure was due to personal reasons. It has now come to light that Zidane’s brother Farid has passed away. The ex-France international left Madrid’s training base in Montreal after being told Farid had fallen ill.
Zidane’s son Luca, who just signed for Racing on loan, also requested he be allowed to leave the club temporarily. Farid reportedly passed away early on Saturday morning surrounded by his family. Zidane, who has three other siblings, is believed to have made it back in time to see his brother before he died. Madrid have given their coach all the time he needs to deal with his family affairs.
