Shakira And Burna Boy’s “Dai Dai” Music Video Hits 1 Billion Views On YouTube

Colombian singer, Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll, popularly known as Shakira and Nigerian Afrobeats superstar, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy have reached another major milestone with their collaborative track, “Dai Dai,” as its official music video surpasses one billion views on YouTube.

The milestone was recorded on Shakira’s official YouTube channel, with the view count independently checked against the figures displayed in the platform.

Released in May, “Dai Dai” brings together Shakira’s Latin-pop influences and Burna Boy’s distinctive Afrobeats sound, reflecting the increasingly global reach of African music and the international appeal of both artistes.

The song was also selected as the Official Song of the FIFA World Cup 2026™, adding another major chapter to Shakira’s history of football anthems. She previously performed “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa),” the official song of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

Royalties generated from “Dai Dai” will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, linking the collaboration to an education-focused social impact initiative.

The latest YouTube milestone further strengthens Burna Boy’s standing on the global music scene and highlights the growing influence of the Nigerian Afrobeats in international pop culture.
