Manchester United’s iconic Old Trafford stadium took on a different atmosphere on Saturday, September 26, 2026, as Nigerian pastor, Jerry Eze led worshippers in prayer during the New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD) UK Prayer Conference.

The event, organised by Pastor Jerry Eze’s Streams of Joy International, attracted Christians from different parts of the United Kingdom and beyond for a day of prayers, worship and fellowship.







Although the entry to the conference was free, prospective attendees were required to register ahead of the event because of limited capacity.

Interest in the gathering reportedly surged in the days before the conference, with social media users claiming that available spaces had been taken up and some turning to TikTok to look for spare tickets.

The conference brought together several prominent Nigerian gospel ministers, who joined Jerry Eze for the programme.

Among those featured were Sunmisola Agbebi, Mercy Chinwo, Dunsin Oyekan and Kaestrings.

The event transformed the 74,000-capacity home ground of Manchester United into a setting for Christian worship and prayer as league football takes a short break for international games.

  The Uni ted States House of Representatives has approved an amendment seeking to withhold 100 per cent of the U.S. assistance to Nigeria until the country takes stronger measures to address violence and alleged persecution of Christians. The amendment, sponsored by the U.S. Congressman Gregory Steube, was adopted through a voice vote on Wednesday and attached to the fiscal year 2027 State Department spending bill, which was later passed by the House by 217-209 votes, largely along party lines.
