Former BBNaija Housemate, DeeOne Emerges As BOOT Party’s House Of Assembly Candidate In Lagos State

Nigerian comedian and former Big Brother Naija housemate, Aderombi Adedayo Martins, popularly known as DeeOne, has secured the Lagos State House of Assembly ticket for the Ibeju Lekki Constituency 1 seat.

DeeOne, who is flying the flag of the BOOT Party, clinched the ticket after emerging victorious at the party's primary election.

Following his win, the comedian took to his social media page on Wednesday night to express gratitude to his party for the confidence placed in him, while also pledging his dedication to the people of the constituency should he be given the opportunity to serve.

In his post, he thanked the BOOT Party for endorsing him as their candidate for Ibeju Lekki Constituency 1, and sent a direct message to constituents ahead of the 2027 elections, promising to approach the role as a servant of the people rather than someone seeking power over them.

  The Uni ted States House of Representatives has approved an amendment seeking to withhold 100 per cent of the U.S. assistance to Nigeria until the country takes stronger measures to address violence and alleged persecution of Christians. The amendment, sponsored by the U.S. Congressman Gregory Steube, was adopted through a voice vote on Wednesday and attached to the fiscal year 2027 State Department spending bill, which was later passed by the House by 217-209 votes, largely along party lines.
