Nigerian Content Creator, London Bus Aunty Up For The UK TikTok Awards

Nigerian content creator based in the United Kingdom, Bemi Orojogun, popularly known as London Bus Aunty, has earned a nomination at the TikTok UK Awards 2025 in the Video of the Year category.

Orojogun was nominated alongside Friends of Elmtree, Sam Morris, Gardiner Brothers, Joseph Machines, and Brad Ben for the prestigious award celebrating standout creators on the platform.

Reacting in a video shared on her TikTok page on Saturday, the visibly excited Orojogun expressed disbelief and gratitude for the nomination.

“Guess where I am? At the TikTok Awards! I have been nominated as the Best Video of the Year 2025. Guys, thank you for getting me here, I can’t believe I am here, but thank you,” she said.

Bemi Orojogun, who has become one of TikTok’s most recognisable Nigerian figures abroad, is known for her simple yet captivating videos featuring London’s iconic double-decker buses.

Her content, often showing her smiling and filming buses passing by without uttering a word has earned her over 200,000 TikTok followers and 20,000 Instagram fans.

It was gathered that the middle-aged creator has transformed from an internet curiosity to a full-fledged influencer, collaborating with brands and public figures, including the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, on the city’s 2,000 zero-emission buses project.

Nicknamed “London Bus Aunty” by fans, Orojogun first went viral in 2024 after posting a forced-perspective video, a visual trick where distance and framing make objects appear closer or larger than they actually are.

In one of her clips, she addressed concerns from followers who feared she was filming dangerously close to traffic, clarifying that she records from the roadside pavement.

Despite her calm demeanour, her videos have often sparked playful reactions online, with some Nigerians jokingly challenging her to try the same act in busy areas like Oshodi or CMS.

With her TikTok nomination, Orojogun joins a growing list of Nigerians making waves on international creator platforms, proving that even the simplest ideas, like filming London buses, can open global doors.
