Portable Receives Award From Mayor In Canada

Controversial Nigerian street-hop sensation, Habeeb Okikiola Badmus popularly known as Portable has received an award from the Mayor of Canada.

This is coming after the singer travelled to Canada after receiving a 10-year work permit.

Though he announced the permit approval months ago, the street-hop sensation only made the trip.

Portable shared updates on his Instagram page, posting photos and videos from his visit to the mayor’s office in Brampton, Canada, where he was accompanied by his team.

During this visit, Portable was presented with an award from the city, marking a major milestone in his international career.

Alongside the visuals, Portable expressed his gratitude, writing, “Finally Portable Omolalomi ZAZUU in Canada. I just want to say thank you to the Canadian government and the city of Brampton for the corporation of the city of Brampton award.”

His arrival and recognition have generated excitement among fans, who are eager to see what this new journey will bring.

  The  government in Equatorial Guinea has commenced a probe into hundreds of leaked pornographic videos allegedly involving high-ranking civil servant, Baltasar Engonga, having sex with various women, including wives of prominent officials in his office. The government has further ordered the installation of surveillance cameras in courts and ministries to combat “indecent and illicit acts.” It also announced that it was suspending officials involved in the scandal, according to a statement issued by the Equatorial Guinea Press and Information Office, published on the government’s website on Tuesday.   The  Magistrates' Court in Owerri, the capital of Imo State, denied bail to prominent broadcast journalist Chinonso Uba, popularly known as Nonso Nkwa, and ordered him to be remanded at the Owerri Correctional Centre on Wednesday. Uba was arraigned before the Chief Magistrate, His Worship Adikaibe, on five counts preferred against him by N.S. Onwochie, Legal Prosecution Officer, Owerri, Imo State on behalf of the state police commissioner. The five counts include conspiracy, treason and arson. At Uba’s arraignment, the prosecuting counsel appeared for the Commissioner of Police/Imo State government while C.K. Mgbekonye Esq., E.T. Okolie Esq., F. N. Obisike Esq., O. F.   A  shooting spree in Awka, Anambra State capital on Thursday morning, has claimed several lives. One of the sources, a student, said the shooting happened in Ifite Awka, at approximately 9:15 a.m., leaving several people dead. Ifite Awka is dominated mostly by students of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. The source said the shooting may not be unconnected to cultism. Last Sunday, no fewer than 12 people were gunned down in a cult-related shooting in Nibo, a town close to Awka. Another source said Thursday’s shooting happened at Ifite, close to the back gate of Unizik, Awka, not far away from Amansea Road.   A  serious gun battle broke out between soldiers and unidentified gunmen in the Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State, reportedly resulting in numerous fatalities and injuries. According to reports, the attack occurred at the Aba branch in Ehime Mbano last night. “Some non-state actors attacked and killed some soldiers in the area yesterday,”  a source claimed. “The whole place is on fire, and troops have taken over nearby communities,”  the source added.   Tragedy  unfolded in Nibo, Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State on Sunday, as a violent attack by masked gunmen resulted in multiple fatalities during the Onwa Asaa festival, a traditional community celebration. The assailants, reportedly driving a black Lexus SUV, stormed an eatery in the community and opened fire indiscriminately, leaving several people dead. The  Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has reacted to the viral video of its officials involved in an argument with a woman at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport. In the trending video, the unidentified lady accused the airport staff of demanding N5000 to clear her bags at the airport. The woman could be heard shouting that she was a passenger and wondered why the officials were demanding N5000 from her to clear her bags.
