Nigerian Football Star, Kayode Olanrewaju Slams Pastor Adegboyega N1Billion Lawsuit, Seeks Divorce
Kayode Olanrewaju, a Nigerian football star, has filed a N1billion suit number PET/304/2024 at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Abuja, against the UK-based founder of the Salvation Proclaimers Anointed Church (SPAC Nation), also known as the NXTION Family, Pastor Tobi Adegboyega.
Olanrewaju said the N1billion in damages he is demanding is for emotional trauma, financial loss, and loss of goodwill arising from allegations of adultery with his wife, Dora Ezinne Kayode.
According to the court documents, Olanrewaju is also asking the court to officially dissolve the marriage with his wife.
The football star in his cross-petition alleged that since his marriage to his wife in 2013, she has engaged in repeated acts of adultery, including having an alleged affair with Pastor Adegboyega.
According to Olanrewaju, his wife’s relationship with the cleric was openly flaunted at public events, causing him significant emotional distress.
He further accused his wife of financial misconduct, alleging that she diverted funds and rental income from properties he owned to support her lavish lifestyle and alleged affair with Pastor Adegboyega.
Olanrewaju in the suit also mentions collusion with Ezinne's alleged ex-lover, Ugochukwu Igboanugo, who he accused of assisting her in her financial improprieties involving property documents.
He said that Ezinne's behavior, which he alleged to include alcohol abuse and late-night partying, has contributed to the breakdown of their marriage.
Additionally, Olanrewaju claimed that his wife abducted their three children in March, prompting intervention by the Directorate of State Security Service (DSS) to locate and arrest her in Abuja.
He stated that his wife subsequently attempted to evade justice by jumping bail and trying to secure passports for their children to leave the country.
Olanrewaju, who is also seeking custody of their children, cited concerns over his wife’s ability to be a suitable parental figure as a reason.
As the court scheduled a hearing of the suit on September 24, neither Pastor Adegboyega nor Olanrewaju’s wife has responded to the allegations.
