Nollywood Actor, Alex Ekubo Dies At 40

Nollywood Actor, Alex Ekubo has passed away, according to an instagram post by fellow actor, Godwin Nnadiekwe.

He was 40 years old.

In a post shared on Instagram, Nnadiekwe wrote, “I’m struggling to find the words. This news has truly broken me. Nollywood has lost a rare soul, and I’m lost for words because this wasn’t the plan, Alex Ekubo.”

He further added, “To think you already prepared your will — it’s a heartbreak I can’t quite describe. Rest well, my friend.”

The message quickly went viral, triggering widespread alarm among fans and industry colleagues, many of whom took to social media to express shock over the sad news.

As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official confirmation from Ekubo’s family or his management on the development.

It was gathered that his last Instagram post was made on December 30, 2024.

Alex Ekubo is well known in the Nigerian movie industry for his acting prowess.

While he was alive, Alex Ekubo had a relationship with Fancy Acholonu; however, the relationship hit a rough patch, and the reason behind it is not disclosed publicly.

Ibom Air Bans Passenger For Life After Violent Assault On Crew And Security At Lagos Airport

Nigerian air carrier, Ibom Airlines Limited has banned a passenger identified as Comfort Emmanson, from flying with its airline after she was found assaulting one of the crew members of their aircraft. Emmanson had in a viral video repeatedly slapped a Purser with Ibom Aircraft after she was allegedly told to switch off her phone before take-off. Confirming the incident in a statement on Monday, Ibom Air said the incident happened on Sunday while Emmanson was on board their Uyo to Lagos flight. The statement read, “Shortly before take-off from Uyo, Ms. Emmanson was instructed in line with standard aviation safety procedures to switch off her mobile phone. She bluntly refused to comply until the Pilot-in-Command made an announcement, after which a fellow passenger seated beside her took the phone and switched it off. “This action prompted a verbal tirade from Ms. Emmanson.
