Liverpool forward, Mohamed Salah has criticized Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) over its post regarding the death of Palestinian football legend, Suleiman Al-Obeid.
Salah questioned UEFA’s post on social media announcing the death of the football legend known as the Palestinian Pele whilst he sought aid in his native Gaza.
The Egyptian became the first high-profile footballer to question the post from UEFA, writing on Instagram, “Can you tell us how he died. Where and why.”
He challenged their tribute to the ‘Palestinian Pele’, asking that the details of his death be made public as well.
Al-Obeid played as an attacker for clubs in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, as well as the Palestinian national team.
The former attacker, 41, was said to have died while looking for aid for himself and his family in southern Gaza.
