Dangote Cement Plc Reacts After Phyna’s Sister Loses Leg In Truck Accident


 
Dangote Cement Plc has released a statement addressing a road accident in Auchi, Edo State involving one of its trucks and left Ruth Otabor, sister of reality TV star Phyna.
 
Recall that the accident led to the amputation of Ruth's leg just a week after she graduated from Auchi Poly.
 
Witnesses said the truck driver did not stop after the accident but was pursued and caught by a lecturer who saw what happened.
 
The truck’s license plate was said to have been removed, and the vehicle is now in police custody.
 
Reacting, the company, in a statement, said that senior officials, alongside its insurance team, visited the accident site, met with law enforcement, and checked on the victim and her family at Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital.
 
The management confirmed that Ms. Otabor will receive full medical care and compensation in line with the company’s welfare policy.
 
Dangote Cement also expressed concern for her condition and extended wishes for her recovery.
 
The company wrote:

“Dangote Cement Plc has addressed the recent road accident in Auchi, Edo State, which involved one of its trucks and left Ms. Ruth Otabor, sister of reality TV star Phyna, seriously injured. The company stated that senior officials, alongside its insurance team, visited the accident site, met with law enforcement, and checked on the victim and her family at Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital.

“The management confirmed that Ms. Otabor will receive full medical care and compensation in line with the company’s welfare policy. Dangote Cement also expressed concern for her condition and extended wishes for her recovery.”
