“How I Lost Millions Trying To Feature Nicki Minaj” – Iyanya

Nigerian singer, Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk popularly known as Iyanya, has recounted how he and his team lost millions of naira in a failed bid to feature famous American-Trinidadian, Nicki Minaj, on one of his songs.

The former project Fame West Africa winner said after the success of his breakthrough song, ‘Kukere’, he and his team were under pressure to produce the next big single.

Iyanya explained that they already recorded ‘Flavour’ but felt it wasn’t the next single after ‘Kukere’.

He said his producer, D’Tunez altered the beat for Kukere and then used it to make ‘Your Waist’, which got a ton of airplay.

According to him, his team wasn’t satisfied with the traction of the song, so his record label boss, Ubi Franklin, suggested a remix with Nicki Minaj to boost the success of the song.

He said they flew to Atlanta, United States, to meet Nicki Minaj for the feature, but they were told that it would cost $200,000 to sign her to a song, which they couldn’t afford at that time.

Iyanya said, “Ur waist was so massive we decided it should go international and we needed the right artiste to help with that journey. @ubifranklin1 suggested Nicki Minaj and I asked how we’re gonna pay for that, he laughed and said ‘if your dreams don’t scare you, they aren’t big enough.”

Bobrisky Falls Ill In Police Custody, Rushed To Hospital

  Controversial Nigerian crossdresser, Idris Olanrewaju Okuneye popularly known as Bobrisky, has reportedly fallen ill while in detention at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex, Alagbon, Lagos. After spending the night in a police cell, Bobrisky was rushed to Falomo Police Hospital for medical attention. A source confirmed the development, stating that he was transferred from the FCID to the hospital for treatment. The source said,  “Bobrisky complained of ‘breast’ pain and was rushed to the Police Hospital in the Falomo area of Lagos around 2:00 p.m. in an ambulance with the plate number LND 339L.   The  Magistrates' Court in Owerri, the capital of Imo State, denied bail to prominent broadcast journalist Chinonso Uba, popularly known as Nonso Nkwa, and ordered him to be remanded at the Owerri Correctional Centre on Wednesday. Uba was arraigned before the Chief Magistrate, His Worship Adikaibe, on five counts preferred against him by N.S. Onwochie, Legal Prosecution Officer, Owerri, Imo State on behalf of the state police commissioner. The five counts include conspiracy, treason and arson.   The government of Equatorial Guinea has dismissed Baltasar Ebang Engonga as Director General of the National Financial Investigation Agency (ANIF) after a series of over 400 sex tapes involving him and multiple women surfaced online.   A  shooting spree in Awka, Anambra State capital on Thursday morning, has claimed several lives. One of the sources, a student, said the shooting happened in Ifite Awka, at approximately 9:15 a.m., leaving several people dead.   Tragedy  unfolded in Nibo, Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State on Sunday, as a violent attack by masked gunmen resulted in multiple fatalities during the Onwa Asaa festival, a traditional community celebration. The assailants, reportedly driving a black Lexus SUV, stormed an eatery in the community and opened fire indiscriminately, leaving several people dead.
