Twitter Removes Legacy Verification Blue Tick Of Tinubu, Peter Obi, Trump And Others
Social network company, Twitter has finally stripped several notable persons of their Legacy verification tick.
For several months, the company had hinted at plans to commercialize verification tick.
It was gathered that Twitter on Thursday removed Legacy Blue Tick for prominent persons.
It was also gathered that the Twitter handles of President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party; 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump; Tony Elumelu, the Chairman of UBA PLC with the blue verification tick had been removed.
The development affected three hundred thousand verified users who did not pay for the Blue Tick, many of them athletes, musicians, journalists and other public figures.
