How To Get Rid Of Bad Breath

 


Bad breath or halitosis can be a major problem especially when you want to kiss your sweetie or whisper a gossip to your friend or talking to someone at a very close range. This may cause discomfort to the other and they may not have the confidence to tell you how bad your breath is.      

What Causes Bad Breath?

Bad breath is caused by odour producing bacteria that grow in the mouth. When you don't brush and floss regularly, bacteria accumulate on the bits of food left in your mouth and between your teeth. The sulfur compounds released by these bacteria makes your breath smell.

Certain foods like garlic, onions that contains pungent oils can contribute to bad breath because the oils are carried to your lungs and out through your mouth. Smoking is also the major cause of bad breath.

Tips On How To Get Rid Of Bad Breath

  1. Brush and floss your teeth regularly 
  2. Rinse your mouth after a meal with water or mouthwash after every meal 
  3. Scrape your tongue regularly 
  4. Use the right toothpaste, toothbrush and mouthwash that works perfectly for you.  
  5. Chew mint gum after a meal 
  6. Drink plenty of water to keep your mouth moist 
  7. Quit smoking 
  8. Keep track of the food that triggers bad breath and avoid it. NOTE: Brush and floss properly and also visit your dentist for regular cleanings but if your bad breath persists, you may have a medical problem called sinusitis or gum disease.
