[SEE VIDEOS]: Graduate Caught Attempting To Steal From A Phone Store In Owerri

 


A man expected to be in his late 20’s or mid 30’s named Remigius Agbanero was caught trying to make an attempt to steal a phone from Microstation at Wetheral road, Owerri Imo state. 

The political science graduate from Imo State University (IMSU), Owerri has been in the game for long, visiting phone stores, posing as a customer and stealing phones without being caught. 

It was gathered that in 3C HUB at Wetheral road, Owerri on Friday March 31, around 3:23pm, the CCTV captured him, showing how he snatched a Tecno Phantom X2 PRO worth about N470,900 from the phone stand with a newspaper and wrapped the phone inside of it and walked past the three people beside him without being caught.

It was also gathered that on Saturday April 1, 2023 he visited some phone stores to carry out his stealing prowess but didn't succeed. He later came to Microstation, a phone store beside 3C HUB to ‘buy’ a phone. He was window shopping and he finally came to Oppo mobile phone stand to snatch OPPO RENO 8T worth about N298,500.

When he noticed that he has been under the radar, he ran away from the store and he was heavily chased by passersby, shop/stand owners along the road side. He was hit down by a bus of which was the end of the road for him. He was beaten up by the angry mob and dragged down to the place where he made the attempt to steal.

He confessed that he sold the stolen TECNO Phantom X2 at Ama Hausa, Douglas, Owerri. He also said that he's married. Later, some police women on mufti came to arrest and took him to the State CID.
