UK Royal Family Fixes King Charles III's Coronation For May 2023

The United Kingdom Royal Family has disclosed that the coronation ceremony of His Majesty, King Charles III will be held on May 6, 2023.

The Royal Family made this known via a Twitter post on Tuesday evening.

King Charles III will be crowned alongside the Queen Consort at Westminster Abbey at the weekend, Buckingham Palace has announced.

“The Coronation of His Majesty The King will take place on Saturday 6 May 2023 at Westminster Abbey.

“The Ceremony will see His Majesty King Charles III crowned alongside The Queen Consort," the British Royal Family said.

Britain’s longest-serving monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, died in September at 96, ending a long reign of about 70 years.

The queen had been dogged by health challenges since last October that left her struggling to walk and stand.

Meanwhile, an economic group in South Africa under the aegis of Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) expressed its disdain against the late British Queen, Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor and her ancestors over their roles in the colonisation of African countries and other parts of the world.

The group in a statement made it clear that it would not mourn the Queen who many, especially the Westerners regarded as the Queen of the world.

EFF in the two-page statement jointly signed by its national spokespersons, Sinawo Thambo and Leigh-Ann Mathys and its national communication manager, Sixolise Gcilishe, condemned the late Queen, saying she spent 70 years living and sustaining a brutal legacy of the dehumanisation of millions of people across the world.

Similarly, a Nigerian-born American professor, Uju Anya was subjected to backlash for her reaction towards Queen Elizabeth's death.

Anya at the news of the Queen’s ill health wrote, “I heard the chief monarch of a thieving raping genocidal empire is finally dying. May her pain be excruciating.”
