NNAMDI KANU: Ex-Imo State Governor, Emeka Ihedioha Disowns Voice Note

The immediate past Imo State Governor, Emeka Ihedioha has distanced himself from a voice note purporting a threat and a letter from him to the Minister of Justice, asking the Minister not to release Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

In a statement he personally signed and issued on Sunday, the former governor said the voice note was “criminally” forged, saying those behind it were aiming at putting him at daggers drawn with the people.

He called on security operatives to thoroughly investigate those impersonating him and forging his signature for documents that did not emanate from him.

Ihedioha said he had decided to remain silent since January 14, 2020, when the Supreme Court nullified his election as governor of the State.

“I consciously yielded to the maxim that silence is golden, so as not to inflame passion in our dear state. But there comes a time when silence is no longer golden. That time is now. It appears that some people are not satisfied with their stolen mandate.

“They have forged documents, concocted voice messages, perjured and maximized the social media in throwing mud to see if anyone sticks. They use issues that are very dear to our people in this nefarious project,” the statement added.

IPOB Commends Ebuka Obi, Advise Igbos To Bring Back Investments Home

  The  Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has assured investors of the safety of Alaigbo, noting that South-east region is big and safe to accommodate their investments. Disclosing  this in a statement on Tuesday, Emma Powerful, the groups spokesman, advised Igbo businessmen and women to bring back their investments before they regret it. Of  recent, Igbos in Lagos and other states complain of governments policies and host communities’ attitudes that affect their respective businesses. These Igbos have been assured by the various governments of the safety of their businesses in their states.   The  Federal High Court in Lagos has sentenced one Courage Ikpaka to two years imprisonment for duping a United States citizen, Mrs Yvelte M. Thompson of $53,000 by impersonating Nigerian musician, Chinedu Okoli popularly known as Flavour N’abania. Justice   Dehinde Dipeolu convicted Ikpaka on Tuesday following his guilty plea to a two-count charge brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Prosecution counsel, Suleiman Suleiman, led EFCC investigator Azibagiri Dan Ekpar in evidence against the defendant. The witness told the court that Ikpaka impersonated Flavour by pledging to organise shows in the United States of America and receiving payment through his Bitcoin wallets.
