  Controversial Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, has unveiled his own ministry. His church known as True Salvation Ministry (TSM), was unveiled on YouTube on Tuesday January 23, 2024. Yul, who hours ago teased a huge announcement on his official X, unveiled his ministry on all his social media handles. Sharing the banner of the church, the actor-turned-preacher, said it is time to do God’s work fully, which is to spread the true message of God. “It’s time to answer the call of God Almighty. It’s time to do His work fully. To spread the true message of God. Tune in, and he transformed,” he wrote.

  The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), has said that the duplication of National Identification Numbers (NINs) is responsible for the new wave of complaints from subscribers who have had their SIMs barred despite linking them to their NINs. This, according to NCC, is due to the activity of third-party agents who duplicate NINs for unsuspecting telecom subscribers. The commission revealed this at a recent media briefing in Lagos. Commenting on the issue, the commission’s Director of Compliance, Mr Efosa Idehen, said, “On the issue of already registered SIMs and NIN, the issue is that some of those SIMs were registered with duplicated NINs. When an audit of the system is carried out, actual owners of the NINs reclaim them. We have a lot of things that people do within the industry, especially SIM-NIN linkage for money purposes. Rivers State Police Command has said three of its officers who abducted and extorted the sum of $3,000 from two travellers will face an orderly room trial and query respectively. The spokesperson for the command, Grace Iringe-Koko, who disclosed this while parading the suspects before newsmen in Port Harcourt on Monday, said the action was part of the internal disciplinary measures taken against operatives involved in unlawful activities. Iringe-Koko, a Superintendent of Police, also said the money equivalent to N4.2 Million has been recovered and handed over to the owners who were to be travellers. The policemen, including two Assistant Superintendents of Police and an Inspector, had whisked their unsuspecting victims to three states before dispossessing them of the said amount equivalent to N4.2 Million.   Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA), has hailed the sentencing of a man, Ademola Oladimeji, to life imprisonment for sexually assaulting his three children. The agency commended the conviction and sentencing of Oladimeji in a statement it posted on its verified X handle @LSdsva, on Monday. It was gathered that Justice Abiola Sholadoye of the Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court on Monday sentenced Oladimeji to three concurrent life imprisonment sentences. Reacting, DSVA said that justice had been served. It noted that the mother of the children reported the case to the agency. “The matter was reported to DSVA after the mother noted that the children, aged five, seven and nine, complained about pain in their private parts. “ They were then referred to Mirabel Centre for medical evaluation.   The Egyptian Football Association has confirmed that captain of their national team, Mohamed Salah, has left the team’s camp at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. Salah has returned to the UK and will continue his rehabilitation from a muscle injury with his club Liverpool. However, in a statement on Sunday night, the Egyptian FA made it clear that the 31-year-old will return to Ivory Coast if they qualify for the semi-final of the tournament. “The Egyptian FA announces that Salah will now travel to England to receive treatment with the hope that he will join the Egyptian national team if it qualifies for the semi-finals,” the statement read.   A 20-year-old self acclaimed spiritualist, Emmanuel Ebeagbor, Aka Dr Walock, has been arrested by operatives of the Edo State Police Command. It was gathered that the suspect, said to be specialized in defrauding women while pretending that he has solutions to their spiritual problems, was arrested at Uromi, by operatives of the Intelligent Rapid Response Squad. The State Commissioner of Police, CP, Funsho Adegboye, said the suspect was arrested by the operatives in the course of investigations into a case of cyber stalking reported at the station. Adegboye said the suspect requested the sum of N240,000 from a lady to help solve her spiritual problem. He disclosed that after the victim transferred the money to the suspect’s bank account, he (the suspect) also demanded her nude video.   Former President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has been quoted as saying that bringing back Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), to face trial in Nigeria was a favour. Femi Adesina, his former spokesperson, quoted the ex-president as saying this in ‘Reflections of a Special Adviser, Media and Publicity (2015-2023)’, a new book unveiled in Abuja last week. Adesina narrated how a group known as Highly-Respected Igbo Greats, led by Mbazulike Ameachi, a First Republic Minister of Aviation, pleaded with the former President to release Nnamdi Kanu.
