Nigerian Man Who Just Returned From Abroad Killed By His Childhood Friend During Housewarming Party In Edo State

The Edo State Police Command has arrested 43-year-old Amadin Williams for the alleged murder of his childhood friend, Eghosa Osas, in Oben community, Ikpoba-Okah Local Government Area.

The spokesperson of the command, Eno Ikoedem, who confirmed the arrest on Sunday, December 28, 2025 said that the suspect would be charged to court once investigations are concluded. 

According to sources, the deceased had returned from abroad with his family to celebrate Christmas.

He was reportedly attacked and killed during a housewarming party.

Following the attack, the suspect fled the community, raising suspicion among residents. 

He was later tracked and arrested in Benin City, where he was said to be hiding. 

“I can confirm that Eghosa Osas, 43 years old, was killed by his childhood friend, Amadin Williams, for reasons yet to be ascertained,”
 the source said. 

“The late Eghosa had returned from abroad to celebrate Christmas with his family. He was attacked and killed at Oben Community during a housewarming party.”


Ikoedem explained that the case was reported by the victim’s elder brother. 

She said Eghosa had gone to relieve himself when the suspect allegedly cornered him and inflicted a machete cut on his neck, which claimed his life.

“The report of the murder of Eghosa is true, and the suspect, Amadin Williams, believed to be his childhood friend, is in custody. Investigation is ongoing, and the suspect will be charged to court as soon as the investigation is concluded,”
 she added.
