Wizkid Becomes First African Artiste To Hit 20 Billion Global Audio Streams

Grammy award-winning Nigerian singer, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun popularly known as Wizkid has reached a new milestone.
 
The singer has made history as the first African artiste to surpass an estimated 20 billion global audio on-demand streams.
 
He recently achieved the feat as the tally of both his lead and feature songs hit 20 billion streams, according to international music monitoring platform, Chart Masters.
 
Wizkid’s most streamed song is Canadian superstar Drake’s ‘One Dance,’ which featured him and Kyla.
 
The has over 3.628 billion streams on Spotify and holds a Guinness World Record as the first song to reach 1 billion streams on the platform.
 
Wizkid is also the first African artiste to receive the Brit Billion Award for surpassing one billion audio on-demand streams in the UK.
 
He is the best-selling Afrobeats artiste with over 65 million units worldwide.

The United States House Of Representatives Votes To Suspend 100% Aid To Nigeria Over Alleged Christian Persecution

  The Uni ted States House of Representatives has approved an amendment seeking to withhold 100 per cent of the U.S. assistance to Nigeria until the country takes stronger measures to address violence and alleged persecution of Christians. The amendment, sponsored by the U.S. Congressman Gregory Steube, was adopted through a voice vote on Wednesday and attached to the fiscal year 2027 State Department spending bill, which was later passed by the House by 217-209 votes, largely along party lines.
