Speed Darlington Released From Police Custody

Darlington Okoye, also known as Speed Darlington, has been released on bail from police custody after spending five days in detention.


Deji Adeyanju, the human rights lawyer, confirmed that he was arrested in Lagos last Friday and then transferred to Abuja, where he had been detained.


The lawyer revealed that Darlington’s detention stemmed from a formal complaint filed by Burna Boy. He was accused of defaming and cyberstalking the Grammy Award winner.


Darlington was released to his lawyer on Tuesday evening after meeting the bail conditions set by the police a in Abuja.


Adeyanju, In a post via X, appreciated those who contributed to the singer’s release and commended the police in the IRT department for their professionalism.


In a video that has now gone viral, Darlington asked Burna Boy to explain how he won the Grammy award for his album ‘Twice As Tall’, taunting his affiliation with the embattled US rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ who is facing multiple charges for sexual exploitation and human trafficking.

  The  47th President of the United States of America, Donald Trump on Monday, January 20, signed an executive order vowing to end birthright citizenship in the U.S., despite a broad legal consensus that the Constitution guarantees American citizenship to everyone born on U.S. soil. Trump’s order directs federal agencies to refuse to recognize U.S. citizenship for children born in the U.S. to mothers who are in the country illegally or there legally on visas, if the father is not a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident. The order would deny U.S. citizenship, including passports, to those children born in the U.S. starting 30 days from now, if at least one parent isn’t an American citizen or green card holder. A 30-year-old woman, Deveca Rose has been handed a 10-year jail term after her four sons died in a house fire after she locked them inside to go shopping at Sainsbury’s. In an  early victory for Twitter, a judge in the United States, Chancellor Kathaleen McCormick has set a five-day October trial date for the looming legal battle between the social giant and Tesla CEO, Elon Musk.   It was gathered that the  hearing on Tuesday centred on Twitter’s push to set a trial date for as early as September in a case focused on Musk’s attempt to walk away from a $44 billion agreement to purchase the company.
