The Glazers Family Makes U-Turn On Selling Manchester United, Demand Up To £10 Billion

The Glazers family are ready to take Manchester United off the market, having failed to get close to the asking price they wanted.

The wealthy American family is also prepared for the backlash they will receive from supporters.

But a source said: “The Glazers are thick-skinned and will not be influenced by any negative fan reaction.”

The Glazers were expecting to attract multiple serious bidders but that did not materialize.

Last November, they made known they were open to offers for either 100 percent of the club, or a partial sale that left them with a sizeable stake.

Only two serious bidders emerged, Sheik Jassim of Qatar, who wanted the whole club and Sir Jim Ratcliffe, whose offer would have left the Glazers with a minority interest.

Even amid recent rumours suggesting the Qatari bid was about to be accepted, the situation has not moved on.

The Glazer family will reportedly try to sell the Premier League again in 2025, when they hope financial and “environmental” factors may attract more bidders, for between £7 billion and £10 billion.
