IFEANYI’S DEATH: “Eniola Badmus Not Arrested, Autopsy Confirms Drowning” - Lagos State Police

A source close to popular Nollywood actress, Eniola Badmus, has debunked reports that the latter was arrested in connection with the death of Ifeanyi, the son of popular singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, and his fiancée, Chioma Rowland.

It was alleged that Badmus was arrested by the police after the late child’s nanny, who is in custody, reportedly claimed that it was the actress who distracted her from keeping watch on the boy before he strayed into the swimming pool and drowned.

In an interview with some newsmen, the source, who preferred anonymity, stated that Badmus was not arrested by the police, and she does not have any relationship with the nanny in question.

The source said, “Eniola was not arrested by the police. She is in her house and the police have also confirmed that she was not arrested. As I speak with you, she is in her house, eating. She does not even know Ifeanyi’s nanny, talk more of calling her. People can say whatever they like. This is a grieving period for Davido, and the issue is a sad one.”

Meanwhile, the Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, had earlier confirmed that Badmus was not arrested.

He said, “The story (on Badmus arrest) is false; nothing like that happened. The two suspects are still with us. The autopsy has been concluded. The autopsy confirmed that he (Ifeanyi) died by drowning.”

Speaking on if the two principal suspects will be charged to court, he said, “I don’t want to preempt that. The investigation is still ongoing.”
