“No Sit-At-Home In The South East” - Nnamdi Kanu’s Lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor

Mr Aloy Ejimakor, Special Counsel to the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has debunked speculations in some quarters that Kanu has court case in Abuja today (Friday, November 18).

Ejimakor in a phone chat with some newsmen in Umuahia, said that the IPOB Leader ” is not appearing in any court today”.

He also refuted rumours that there would be sit-at-home in the South East today as a result of the court matter.

Kanu’s lawyer who dismissed the rumour as misleading, urged members of the public to disregard such unsubstantiated speculations.

Ejimakor urged people to go about their legitimate businesses as no sit-at-home was declared in any part of Biafra land.

Kanu’s lawyer advised against peddling of rumours and false reports capable of causing confusion or inflicting further hardship on the people.

He said that anything capable of ruining the economy of South East should be avoided, adding that people should always endeavour to get the right information from the right source.

  A  new experimental brain implantation device, Blindsight, designed to restore vision has been awarded the US Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) ‘breakthrough device’ designation. The device was created by Elon Musk’s brain chip company, Neuralink, which specialises in developing a brain-chip interface that can be implanted within the skull. Blindsight is designed to allow individuals who have lost both eyes and optic nerves to regain sight. A  federal lawmaker representing the Esan North-East/Esan South-East Federal Constituency in Edo State, Prince Henry Odianosen Okojie has reportedly escaped an assassination attempt. Okojie, the husband of the Nollywood movie Star, Mercy Johnson, was reportedly attacked by armed men suspected to be political thugs at his residence in Uromi on Friday morning. Okojie’s media aide, Michael Ihaza, confirmed the development in a statement.   The  Federal High Court in Lagos has sentenced one Courage Ikpaka to two years imprisonment for duping a United States citizen, Mrs Yvelte M. Thompson of $53,000 by impersonating Nigerian musician, Chinedu Okoli popularly known as Flavour N’abania. Justice   Dehinde Dipeolu convicted Ikpaka on Tuesday following his guilty plea to a two-count charge brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Prosecution counsel, Suleiman Suleiman, led EFCC investigator Azibagiri Dan Ekpar in evidence against the defendant. The witness told the court that Ikpaka impersonated Flavour by pledging to organise shows in the United States of America and receiving payment through his Bitcoin wallets. Nigerian Nurse Who Left Her Infant To Die While On Duty Caught At Airport Trying To Flee UK, Jailed For Three Years

  A Nigerian nurse, identified as Ruth Auta has been sentenced to three years in jail for causing the death of her ten-week-old baby. The nurse was sentenced by Bolton Crown Court in the UK. It was gathered that the Nigerian woman left the deceased baby Joshua Akerele in her nurse's accommodation for eight hours so she could work her shift on December 20, 2022. The nurse was said to be a single mother, aged 28. When she returned to her room, she found Joshua lifeless in his cot and dialled 999, telling operators her son was not breathing. Akerele was later confirmed dead an hour later with tests showing he may have 'overheated' due to the layers of clothing and bedding he was wrapped in.
