Manchester United Takes Decision On Sacking Ronaldo
Manchester United have begun the process of sacking forward, Cristiano Ronaldo from Old Trafford.
The Red Devils have already told Ronaldo not to return to Old Trafford after the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
According to MailOnline, Manchester United’s lawyers believe Ronaldo’s recent actions during his explosive interview with Piers Morgan are enough to consider it a breach of his contract, which is worth in excess of £500,000 a week and still has seven months left to run.
Should Manchester United successfully terminate Ronaldo’s deal without paying compensation, it would save the Premier League club in the region of £16million.
Ronaldo, in his recent interview with Morgan, slammed the club, insisting that he was ‘betrayed’.
The Portugal captain also hit out at the Glazer family, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, Red Devils youngsters, and the club’s former stars, Wayne Rooney and Gary Neville, among other topics.
Meanwhile, it’s understood that Ten Hag has made it clear to Manchester United’s hierarchy that Ronaldo, who is currently in Qatar with the Portugal national team for this year’s World Cup, should never play for the club again.
This is coming after Manchester United issued a statement on Friday that the club have initiated appropriate steps in response to the 37-year-old’s recent interview and will make no further comments.
