Kim Kardashian To Keep Last Name ‘West’ Despite Kanye’s Name Change

Kim Kardashian has no plans to change her last name, West, despite Kanye’s move to change his full name to Ye.

According to TMZ, the reality star has revealed that she will retain the last name of her former husband even after their divorce.

This comes days after Kanye filed to change his full name to ‘Ye’.

Kardashian plans to keep the last name because their four children, North, Psalm, Chicago and Saint, would not change their last names either.

Though Kardashian has no plans to change her last name, she fully supports Kanye’s move to change his name to ‘Ye’, according to the report.

This is because Kanye has been known with the name Ye and Kim believed that people will still call him Kanye West whether he changed the name or not.

Kanye’s move to change his name

According to court documents dated Aug 11 2021, West filed the request to legally change his name from Kanye Omari West to just “Ye”. The reason for the change of name was simply stated as “personal”.

The rapper, who goes by several pseudonyms such as Pablo, Yeezus, and Yeezy, officially introduced himself as ‘Ye’ via a tweet in September 2018.

“The being formally known as Kanye West…I am YE,” he wrote.

The name ‘Ye’ had also been the title of his album released in June of the same year.

Nigerian singer, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido, has confirmed his upcoming wedding to his partner, Chioma Rowland.   Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested fourteen suspected vote-buyers and intercepted N11m cash in the off-cycle governorship elections.  “ Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested 14 (Fourteen) suspected vote buyers in Otueke, Adawari playgrounds in Bayelsa State and at various polling units in Imo and Kogi States,” the anti-corruption agency said in a late Saturday statement. “ They were arrested on Saturday, November 11, 2023, in intelligence-driven operations that commenced several days before the ongoing governorship elections in the three states.” It  also intercepted N11m cash in Bayelsa and Imo states. “Also, a total sum of N11,040,000 (Eleven Million, Forty Thousand Naira only) comprising N9,310,000 (Nine Million, Three Hundred and Ten Thousand Naira) intercepted from suspected vote buyers and sellers in Bayelsa and N1,730,000 (One Million, Seven Hundred and Thirty Thousand Naira) intercepted fro

Immigration Officer Bags 7-Year Jail Term Over Passport Fraud

  The  Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), has secured the conviction of Quadri Ismail Adeyinka, a staff of the Nigeria Immigration Service for committing travel passport fraud. ICPC  arraigned the convict before Justice Jude Onwuegbuzie of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Apo, Abuja, on a four-count charge bordering on gratification, conferment of corrupt advantage and cheating contrary to extant provisions of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act 2000 and the Penal Code Act. Counsel to ICPC, Dr Osuobeni Ekoi Akponimisingha, in the course of the trial, led evidence before the court on how Adeyinka defrauded Ovie Justice Ojeffia under the pretence of regularising the latter’s international passport. Adeyinka,  after receiving the sum of N100,000 from Ojeffia to regularise the said passport, reneged on their agreement. Veteran Nollywood Actress, Stella Ikwuegbu Is Dead

Nollywood has been plunged into mourning as veteran actress Stella Ikwuegbu passed away on Sunday.  A cloud of sorrow has therefore enveloped the Nigerian film industry as fellow actors, filmmakers, and fans grapple with the devastating news and reflect on Ikwuegbu’s immense contributions to Nollywood over the years.
