Edo State Police Command has said it has arrested a 43-year-old man, Ovie Oktogbo, who specializes in raping male teenagers in Ugbowo, Benin. In a statement on Wednesday by the state Command Spokeman, SP Bello Kontongs, Oktogbo, an indigene of Delta was arrested after one of his victims, a 13-year-old fell ill. The statement stated, “On the 10/02/2022 at about 18:00hrs, the Edo State Police Command arrested one Ovie Oktogbo ‘M’ (43) of No. 15 Ugboguhi Street Off Uwasota, Ugbowo, Benin City, an indigene of Delta State but resident in Benin City. A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja presided over by Justice Zainab Dimka Abubakar has granted the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency's (NDLEA) request to detain Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, and six others being investigated for their involvement in cocaine deal for 14 days. The court gave the order following NDLEA's application by its Director of Prosecution and Legal Services, Sunday Joseph, yesterday, February 22, 2022. In suit marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/111/2022, the agency sought leave of the court to detain the suspects in NDLEA custody for two weeks pending the conclusion of investigation. The suspects are DCP Abba Kyari; ACP Sunday J. Ubia; ASP James Bawa; Inspector Simon Agirigba; Inspector John Nuhu; Chibunna Patrick Umeibe and Emeka Alfonsus Ezenwanne. Jose Mourinho was suspended for two matches on Tuesday after being sent off for an angry stoppage-time outburst at the referee in Roma’s Serie A draw with Verona.   Mourinho shouted at referee Luca Pairetto and mimed a phone call, an enigmatic gesture that earned him a red card.  Italian media reported that Mourinho was unhappy with how little time had been added Saturday, at the end of a game in which Roma fought back from two goals down to draw 2-2. Roma fell six points behind Juventus, who hold the fourth Champions League place. Italian media suggested that the gesture questioned the referee’s independence. Nigeria's Internet speed has been ranked 16th of the 46 countries examined on the continent, with Morocco, South Africa and Tunisia having the fastest mobile download speeds in Africa. Crowdsourcing firm, SpeedChecker, in its Africa's Mobile Network Champions report for 2021, released at the weekend, ranked countries and mobile operators in two categories: fastest mobile network champion and best mobile coverage champion. The firm explained that data used for the survey was collected between January 2021 and January 2022 from end user devices running Android and iOS systems. SpeedChecker took over 704 million coverage samples and over 3.4 million speed test samples across Africa. While Nigeria ranked 16th at 11.55Mbit/s, with Airtel emerging as the fastest network, Maroc Telecom in Morocco came out tops with an average country download speed of 23.57 Mbit/s. Suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, has dragged the Federal Government to court to seek release from the custody of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency. Kyari, in his suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/182/22, is praying the Federal High Court in Abuja to compel the NDLEA to grant him bail on health grounds, pending the hearing and determination of his fundamental right enforcement application. Kyari through his lawyer, Cynthia Ikena, claimed to be suffering from diabetes and hypertension and asked the court to order the NDLEA to release him. But Justice Inyang Ekwo noted that the suit contained some averments that would require the response of the Federal Government. “Upon studying the process of the Applicant and averments in support thereon, I am of the opinion that the respondent should be put on notice,” the judge held. The Operatives  of Ogun State Command of Nigeria Police have arrested a 30-year-old woman, Bola Agbedimu for spending fake one thousand naira notes at Kila market in Odeda local government area of the state. The suspect, according to a statement issued by the command image maker, Abimbola Oyeyemi, was arrested following a report lodged at Odeda Divisional headquarters by the Chairperson of Egbalawa crops/fruits association, who said the suspect was caught spending fake one thousand naira currency notes in the market.
